:: i need a new book ::

8:39 AM

My days have been running pretty long. I've been pretty tired, pretty drained but not going to lie there's been a pretty exciting rush to it. The college grind is still something relatively new (although I feel like I've made a home out of my campus already) and I'm taking every bit of work I get very seriously with the term 'CGPA' constantly swimming around the back of my mind. Not to mention club activities and sports. Yes sports, can you believe it?!??!  I'm still terrible handling any form of sport with a ball though. Man, I'm trying.

Anyway, I've been craving a really good book to read. I feel like all the free time I have is being used up on flopping down on my bed, scrolling through Tumblr and sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for any possible comeback update about Exo. Scratch the I feel. I know.

I'm suddenly just longing to have a brand new book in my hands. During Communications class today, Mr Gary told us about how studies show that every human being naturally has an inclination to needing books in their lives, whatever form of book it may be. It's an unexplainable find, but it has something to do with how our senses are naturally drawn to the scent and feel of a brand new book. As a keen appreciator of books, I couldn't agree more. I really would like to know if it applies to everyone else that isn't so fond of reading though. Do you have a subtle inclination to the sense of ownership of a brand new book?

The last read that had me super hooked was Haruki Murakami's 1Q84, and that was last year. I've read a few more novels after that, but those were some unread books I got from Big Bad Wolf that I picked off my shelf when I was bored. Sad to say I haven't had another read that had me gripping onto a table out of feels since last year.

Haruki Murakami is my favourite author by far. In my opinion and liking, nobody comes close to him in terms of styles of writing. I'm more of a literary fiction kind of person rather than anything else, so I'm really into complicated plots, heavy flowered up descriptions and odd characters. I've honestly been so lazy to check out any other good reads from any other authors so apart from Murakami's latest book (which I haven't gotten yet cause it ain't cheap and I need money for college food) I'm just waddling around this book-less void in my soul.

You know what, I don't even know how I got to the topic of needing a new book I swear I was supposed to ramble on about how much I need sleep. Is the air capitalising my train of thought? Cause good sleep is so much cheaper than a good book.

Double thumbs up 'cause I'm going to sleep before 12 tonight.
